Kay Kendall – maybe because the she passed away so younger into the 1959, their one or two which have Cukor (Les Girls) and Minnelli (The newest Hesitant Debutante that have husband Rex Harrison + Sandra Dee & John Saxon & Dame Angela inside the bitch means) are delicious enjoyable now, as well as the British funny Genevieve.

Novarro has also been gay without a doubt – good with Garbo from inside the Mata Hari inside the 1931, his voice was ok very seriously the guy need to have got a beneficial stretched occupation

He was including amusing from inside the “the Conqueror” having Wayne and Susan Hayward – he had been a great deal more a nature star than simply a superstar regardless if.

John Gilbert’s sound is actually great for sound , he was sabotaged because of the Pound Mayer whom offered him shitty programs (help save you to definitely Gilbert published himself, 1932’s Downstairs hence isn’t really a detrimental flick) His old flame Garbo came to the new cut and required one he costar together with her during the Queen Christina immediately after particular novice entitled Laurence Olivier’s screen-test try an effective dud. He passed away a couple of years after. Sad..

Betty Grable. The biggest feminine superstar of one’s 1940s. Had an uninterrupted work on due to the fact a top ten box office superstar out-of 1942 so you’re able to 1951, something not one star in advance of otherwise while the completed, not even Doris Go out – however, Big date try #1 for many years, when you’re Grable is #1 only if (for the 1943).

George Brent was previously believed a major leading man during the clips, appearing contrary Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, Claudette Colbert, Greta Garbo, Myrna Loy, Joan Fontaine, Ginger Rogers, Merle Oberon, Jean Arthur, etc. Certainly their four spouses was basically Ruth Chatterton and you may Ann Sheridan.

For many who check out “Summer Stock” closely, Judy nearly breaks on cam from Eddie Bracken’s antics through the the scenes together.

Great bond. We did not incur Eddie Bracken both – the he might manage are yodel. I always mentioned that in the event the Ronald Reagan had not entered government he’d end up being an alternate Eddie Bracken. The story off John Gilbert’s fall try one Garbo stood him right up in the its organized relationships at the Marion Davies’ Beverly Mountains mansion (where JFK lived in 1960 as he got new Democratic Presidential nomination). Pound Mayer made a good sarcastic feedback, and Gilbert punched him about deal with and you can broke their cups. Quite unwise.

R9, in the event the Fredric February hadn’t generated “Top Numerous years of Our life” he would be totally destroyed. (The big Oscar guilt with that motion picture was Myrna Loy wasn’t selected.)

We watched Gomez only past for the a Dale Robertson (my personal very first film smash) western “The fresh new Casino player Off Natchez” that have lovely Debra Paget

In the event that Luise Rainer hadn’t existed as long as she did she’d become more out of a great “forgotten” people. However, she’s going to continually be near the top of the brand new “Undeserved Oscar” listing. If in case she had not claimed the two Oscars she would feel straight towards lost listing.

[quote] [R9], in the event the Fredric March hadn’t generated “Most useful Several years of Our life” he would become entirely destroyed. (The big Oscar shame thereupon movie was Myrna Loy wasn’t selected.)

Check out brands that have been now huge, but might be mainly missing comment les femmes Japonais sont-elles si belles in only a matter of many years:

Betty Grable videos aren’t viewed much these days,, besides How-to Marry A billionaire – instead of Monroe she failed to manage greatest directors otherwise start systems. Their enjoyable enjoying their though when it comes to those dated Fox musicals with Alice Faye and Carmen Miranda.

Monica Vitti – superstar of your arty Italian Antonioni clips from the sixties and you may after turned into a greatest comedienne inside the Italy, in her own eighties now it appears this lady has held it’s place in seclusion having Alzheimers for some ages.
